Job Description

Moncrief Construction Limited is a rapidly growing company located in Kenora, ON. MCL is excited to offer this opportunity for a Staffing Manager. This individual will be someone who can proactively recruit for skilled trades, workers and professional roles, maintain personnel files, and who has knowledge of Employment Standards and safety legislation. The Staffing Manager will work closely with all Management as well as the Safety Department. This is a new position, and has potential to grow.This position can be performed remotely.Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Source and recruit candidates using a variety of tools and resources (databases, social media, referrals) – you are driven, self motivated and are determined to find the best candidates for our needs
  • Work with Superintendents, Project Managers, Estimators and Department Managers to fill their vacancies with the best candidates - you have the ability to understand the unique needs of each department and job and are able to recruit the right people to fill those holes
  • Assess candidate knowledge, experience, skills and qualifications – you possess the critical thinking skills necessary to determine the suitability of a candidate for employment
  • Conduct interviews using a mix of traditional and creative methodologies – you can work within structure and also use technology available to conduct remote interviews
  • Workforce forecasting – you are able to forecast workforce needs based on upcoming projects and determine what can be filled internally and what needs recruitment
  • Maintain Employee records – you are detail oriented, and work to maintain and organize employee files including disciplinary action, incident reports and certifications
  • Prepare and maintain workers compensation claims – you are familiar with legislation and are able to track employee claims and work with the Safety Manager to implement any strategies
The successful candidate will have the following:
  • 3+ years of Recruitment and/or Human Resources experience – background in Construction, HR, Recruitment preferred
  • Impeccable communication skills
  • Superb computer skills
  • Superior work ethic
  • Basic knowledge of the trades and Construction Industry
Job Types: Part-time, CasualSalary: $25.00-$30.00 per hourSchedule:
  • Monday to Friday

  • Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
  • recruiting: 3 years (preferred)
  • construction: 3 years (preferred)
  • human resources: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
  • Drivers Licence (preferred)
