As a management team member, the Human Resource Specialist plays an essential role in assisting Love Caravan’s team with the employee and volunteer recruitment, record maintenance, payroll processing, and providing clerical support to all employees. We’re looking for a take-charge, perceptive and creative individual who is a conceptual thinker with superb organizational, time management, administrative, and communication skills.Would you like to work with a team who are committed to creating a better future for our community If so, the Love Builder team would like to learn more about you.What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in recruitment, developing and maintaining relationships with youth-focused institutions (including university, career centers and student committees) is a bonus.
  • Proof of formal training (certificates, diplomas, class credits, etc.) in Human Resources, Business Management or another related field is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Exposure to aspects of Labor Law, Employment Equity, and Occupational Health and Safety standards. Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
  • Outstandingproblem-solving, conflict management, and decision-making skills. with a solid understanding of HR function, employee relationships, personnel management, HR regulation development and payroll and benefits administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral). Knowledge of appropriate software including Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Experience in graphic design is an asset.
  • Great reliability, detail and target-oriented, responsive team spirit coupled with a flexible, “can-do” attitude and results-oriented mindset. The ability to take initiative when required is an ideal quality!
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing the intensive workload during hiring periods. Assisting with the recruitment process by efficiently composing job postings, identifying candidates, performing reference checks, and issuing employment contracts, etc., to meet hiring goals.
  • Scheduling meetings, interviews, Human Resources events, and maintaining agendas. Welcoming new employees to the organization by conducting orientations. Organizing tests and training to ensure the qualified candidates are set up for success.
  • Maintaining employee confidentiality and protecting operations by keeping human resource information confidential. Providing payroll information by collecting time and attendance records.Completing termination paperwork and exit interviews.
  • Serving as the point of contact with completion of compensation, updated records of new staff, internal administrative support, and payroll errors resolution. Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and the best practices.
  • Proactively developing appropriate channels, building candidate lifelines and connecting with community partners and schools.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed in order to ensure the seamless and positive experience.
