  • Interact directly with agents to promote marketing/agency services and tools through inbound/outbound calls and emails. Establishing rapport and service with current broker network and seeking new brokers to do business with. Work closely with brokers to ensure prompt service to clients.
  • Using a database to track inbound/outbound calls: who was contacted, what was discussed with brokers, and when to follow-up.
  • Become an expert on all products in order to communicate and promote Wawanesa Life products throughout the organization and the independent system.
  • Keep informed on company contracting procedures and pricing.
  • Providing support to Life Brokers via email/phone, ex: contracting, licensing and commission inquiries, product inquiries, building insurance quotes, software inquiries, and marketing material questions.
  • Become familiar with marketing materials available: brochures, posters, flyers, bulletins, memos, product guides, PowerPoint presentations, Life Broker software.
  • Become familiar with underwriting and new business procedures to assist brokers in soliciting business.
  • Research and technical responsibilities, keep informed on Agency Services issues: i.e. – contracting and licensing regulations and procedures.
  • General department office assistance, which includes covering other desks during absences to order supplies, broker licensing and contracting, completing reports, and providing assistance to supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to individuals with a post-secondary education degree/diploma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective, professional relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as listening skills.
  • Have confidence when and take pleasure in speaking to individuals over the phone.
  • Creative and technical skills, ability to problem-solve, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Service oriented, with a positive attitude and a strong desire to succeed.
  • Ability to take initiative and act effectively in various circumstances.
  • Proven track record of trustworthiness, dependability and ethical behavior.
  • Experience/knowledge of life insurance products is considered an asset.
  • License to sell life insurance products considered an asset.
