As a perennial “Top Manitoba Employer”, the WAA prides itself as an organization that attracts engaged employees with the right skills, in the right place, and at the right time. http://www.waa.caLandscape Maintenance StudentJob Title: Landscape Maintenance StudentReports to: Groundside ForemanTerm Position: May 2, 2022 – August 26, 2022Salary: $18.00 per hourClosing Date: April 12, 2022The OpportunityWinnipeg Airports Authority has an opportunity for a Landscape Maintenance Student within our Groundside Maintenance Department. The department works include maintenance and repair of all groundside land under the supervision of the Groundside Foreman.Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of all groundside land, including but not limited to: weed, prune, and trim trees and plants, and cut grass using tractor mower;
  • Remove litter and garbage to maintain cleanliness of Groundside Campus;
  • Assist in painting lines on various Groundside paths; and
  • Other related duties as required.
Selection Criteria include:
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution;
  • Effective communications skills;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize workload;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license;
  • Must have excellent customer service skills;
  • Previous landscape maintenance experience considered an asset; and
  • Preference will be given to students enrolled in an environmental design or landscape architecture focused program; and
  • Winnipeg Airports Authority is a federally regulated environment, all employees are required to be Covid-19 vaccinated.
