JOB TITLE: Lead Truck Driver; MCC Furniture Thrift StoreREPORTS TO: ManagerTIME COMMITMENT: 4-5 days per week (includes rotation of Saturdays)LOCATION: 18 Keewatin Street, Winnipeg, MBTERM: Full timeSTART-DATE: immediatelySALARY: $15.50-17.50/hour commensurate with experienceBENEFITS: 4% Vacation Pay, Group Insurance (after 3 month employment)SynopsisMCC Furniture Thrift Store is a welcoming, justice seeking not-for-profit store, supporting the globalwork of Mennonite Central Committee. Knowledge of MCC, and the ability to articulate and share themission and work of MCC is essential. This role is the ‘face’ of MCC with the donors upon collection ofdonated items as well as those people who purchased items being delivered. The role involves takingresponsibility with driving, picking-up and delivery of furniture and appliances and to help manage stockin the store.Qualificationsa) Valid Driver’s licenseb) Good physical condition, with ability to lift, move heavy furniture items in excess of 100 lbsc) Self-motivated, ability to work as part of a teamd) Good communication skills with leadership ability, sound decision-making skills.e) Ability to work closely with staff and customers to ensure a positive, constructive environment.f) Passion and enthusiasm for the mission of Thrift Shop and MCC, with heart for social justice,peacemaking and global understanding.g) Ability to maintain a flexible schedule with availability to work weekends as needed.h) Must submit proof of full Covid-19 vaccinationDuties and Responsibilities:a) Pick up and deliver furniture itemsb) Be able to communicate the work of MCC and purpose of Furniture Thrift Storec) Assist in store operations including:a. Scheduling of pick up and deliveriesb. Assist with cash/charge transactions as neededc. Assist with lifting/moving/placing of furniture in-store.d.
