Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOBDelta 9 Bio-Tech Inc. is looking for a candidate with a keen eye and the ability to learn drying and curing cannabis. The successful candidate will possess strong attention to detail and be capable of working independently. This individual will continuously learn and expand their skillset, providing support to the Drying Team Lead in all aspects of the drying and curing process. This role requires rotating weekend shifts.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Very flexible in availability; rotating schedule over weekends and overtime as needed
  • Continuously training with the Drying Team Lead to understand drying and curing of cannabis: Learn touch/feel of various stages in the drying process; Use water activity meter as a tool to monitor cannabis
  • Ability to determine actions in the absence of the Drying Team Lead; when to bin, sweat, hand buck cannabis
  • Bulk Packaging: Pull samples as per QA and SOP requirements; Ample Organics software data entry; Complete worksheets and vault sign-in with keen attention to detail; Vault access required
  • Support Drying Team Lead to maintain and/or develop: Inventory; Communications including updates to manager; Drying pod environmental monitoring; Preventative maintenance; Continuous improvement
  • Sorting machine: Operation; Cleaning; Maintenance
  • Maintain good communication with Team Lead, Supervisor, and others: Assigned email account and is responsible to check daily for updates
  • Notify Team Lead, Supervisor and QA of any deficiencies or contamination risks: Segregate as needed; Track weight; Document and communicate results
  • Monitor the temperature and humidity of dry pods: Adjust equipment settings and/or placement as needed including fans, humidifiers, dehumidifiers and air conditioners
  • Work with multiple batches in drying: Keep clear records; Mitigate risk of crosscontamination; Batches isolated; In-batch deficiencies segregated and tracked
  • Ensure sanitation is completed for each batch: Complete associated paperwork
  • Substitute for Drying Team Lead at Team Huddle: Provide updates on batches in drying and associated processes
  • Ability to obtain Health Canada security clearance and ability to work alone
  • Provide support to other departmental activities and processes
  • Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Basic math
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills: Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Understanding of documentation procedures
ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • Capable of working independently
  • Capable of lifting 50lbs and work in greenhouse conditions
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check
  • Previous experience working with cannabis as asset
  • Flexible with shift work
