We will give you the tools, resources, and support for your efforts to build your career within our team. http://www.providencegrain.ca/winnipegThe Trader Assistant is responsible for interacting with internal and external customers to assist the Trader in ensuring contracts are executed on time and within specifications. This position is the critical point of contact after sales for our customers, elevator network, third-party suppliers, freight forwarders, and container stuffers for after sales.Essential Job Functions:

  • Handle the execution of export and domestic shipments, ensuring contracts are fulfilled within contractual
  • specifications (rail and container shipments)
  • Plan rail shipments with PGG elevators and third-party suppliers. Liaise with container stuffing facilities and freight forwards to ensure smooth execution.
  • Prepare contracts and manage contracts in ERP system
  • Prepare export documentation
  • Assist Trader with documenting, data entry, cost, delivery, and billing information
  • Provide logistical support for commodity shipments
  • Troubleshoot delivery issues; process unload information, payment of freight and service invoices
  • Generate sales invoices and assist in the collection of accounts receivable if needed
  • Assist customers in resolving commodity, freight, accounting, and other issues
Education & Experience
  • Agriculture/ Logistics/ Freight Forwarding experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Letters of credit would be beneficial but not required
Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent Microsoft Office software knowledge: Excel
  • Excellent communication skills in English – both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask, be flexible and adapt to last-minute changes and requests
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, teamwork, and time management skills

Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per yearSchedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Winnipeg, MB R3T 3L6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
  • logistics: 1 year (preferred)
