Job Description

Overview:As the Manager, COE Integrations you will provide leadership and expert counsel in establishing and implementing standards, guidelines and best practices for the Architecture/Design, Development, Deployment and Governance of Integration solutions across the Enterprise. You will build and maintain relationships with key vendors to maintain an understanding of Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) specific technologies and the overall technology landscape.Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance and is responsible for the creation and operation of a positive, secure and motivating work environment.
  • Responsible for all activities of a manager, including management of the department budget, participation in strategic planning, long term human resource planning, budgeting for special projects, and monitoring/reporting of results and improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with directorate Management to ensure policies and procedures are implemented and support the corporate, divisional, and departmental objectives.
  • Plan for ongoing maintenance and version upgrading of applications to ensure the Corporation can maintain vendor supported service levels.
  • Develop subject-matter experts in integration processes and operations and leverage their expertise throughout the organization.
  • Lead and support enterprise integration projects with the cooperation/coordination of subject matter experts.
  • Optimize integration investments across the enterprise level and leverages economies of scale to maximize the use of the integration tools portfolio.
  • Help lower total technology cost of ownership by leveraging technology investments across multiple projects.
  • Monitor production systems to ensure continuous availability of services.
  • Manage operations of the department in the effective and efficient delivery of all application production support, maintenance, and work package assignments.
  • Monitor and coordinate resources to optimise customer service within the department and corporation.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Business or applied Science with a demonstrated record of continuing education in the Information Technology field.
  • Ten years of experience in a software development environment leading the design, development and maintenance of large-scale Enterprise Integration Solutions, including:
    • Ten years of experience in Design and Architecture of Integration/ETL Solutions, including MuleSoft and Informatica.
    • Five years are in a leadership capacity, heading a Centre of Excellence or similar practice.
  • Advanced analytical skills with ability to apply findings to solve problems.
  • Advanced communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders to find solutions and agreement with changing timelines and priorities.
  • Ability to manage clients who must continuously adapt to IT change.
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate technical staff and maintain employee engagement.
  • Goal oriented, with a strong interest in measuring success.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the following:
    • Design and Architecture of Integration Solutions.
    • UML and Architecture design tools.
    • DevOps CI/CD Automation.
    • Database design and Implementation.
    • Integration patterns and reuse techniques.
    • Messaging systems such as Kafka, JMS, AMQ, and Nirvana.
    • Schema definition patterns.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required level of security clearance as a condition of employment.
