We offer an exciting place to build your career with competitive compensation and benefit packages, company matching RRSP/DPSP program, employee home purchase program and employee discounts.Job OverviewReporting to the Director, Corporate Tax, as the Manager, Corporate Tax you will work closely with the Director to manage and oversee all tax services for Qualico companies within Canada and the US.Your Primary Responsibilities (with support of the Tax Accountant) include:

  • Responsibility for Canadian tax compliance, tax provisions and instalment payments.
  • Planning and implementing tax strategies for efficiencies and cost savings, and in connection with business objectives and projects.
  • Monitoring and analyzing federal, provincial and foreign legislative, regulatory and judicial developments and modeling and communicating the relevant tax impacts to the company.
  • Coordinating and reviewing responses to audit requests and other inquiries from Canadian tax authorities.
  • Coordinating payment of capital and taxable dividends in a tax effective manner, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Identifying and quantifying the tax implications of corporate acquisitions, dispositions and reorganizations.
  • Acting as a resource and provide advice for indirect tax filings and issues.
  • Supervising, developing and providing guidance to staff, while promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Taking the necessary training in US corporate tax to gradually assume responsibility for the US tax compliance and planning work at a future date.

Essential Requirements
  • CPA designation, or equivalent.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in International Tax in a multi-national corporate tax group or similar environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of Canada tax legislation, case law, guidance, and best practices.
  • Completion of In-Depth Tax program.
  • Training in International Tax and Indirect Tax.
  • US corporate taxation is an asset.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
