The opportunity:Reporting to the Vice-President, Finance, the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) works closely with senior management to increase the company’s efficiency and profitability by assisting with the formulation of both the medium and long-term financial plan.Key responsibilities include:
  • Working closely with the CFO and leadership team to formulate the businesss medium to long term financial and strategic plan.
  • Working with Business Unit leads to build and/or maintain business planning model; running scenario analyses, annual budgets, and forecasts.
  • Producing models to project long term growth and profitability.
  • Delivering competitor analyses, market trends, and associated commentary to the leadership team.
  • Analyzing financial and operational results to better understand company performance.
  • Utilizing BI tools to delivery meaningful insights into business performance.
  • Communicating to senior management reasons behind the product/department performance and results.
  • Providing detailed analysis and commentary on cost center results.
  • Reviewing operations and recommending new productivity or cost saving initiatives.
  • Preparing business cases to support new investment, strategic and other business decisions.
  • Reviewing existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvement efforts.
  • Evaluating previous budgets, expenditures to develop and implement future budgets.
  • Communicating results and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation and streamlining operations.
  • Provide insights to senior management around financial modelling, forecasts, and profitability.
  • Being responsible for special projects related to process optimization, market research, and capital allocation.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant analytical experience.
  • A professional qualification, such as CA, CPA, or CFA.
  • A significant analytical skillset, including experience with the utilization of BI and reporting tools.
  • Strong quantitative abilities.
  • An ability to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships.
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of commercial acumen.
  • Advanced computer software skills, including writing macros in MS Excel and other accounting packages.
