Job Description

Representing over 2,500 REALTORS® in Manitoba, The Manitoba Real Estate Association Inc. (MREA) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual who thinks strategically and proactively to manage and develop its two registered charities, the Manitoba REALTORS® Shelter Foundation, and the Manitoba Tipi Mitawa First Nations home ownership program.Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is the primary support to MREA’s two registered charities and requires managerial and administrative experience.Qualifications and Assets: · A minimum of five years fundraising experience with a demonstrated track record successful grant-writing and securing gifts· Relevant post-secondary education or a combination of education and experience· Comprehensive knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines· Demonstrated experience in creating and executing successful fundraising initiatives with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, deadlines, and changing priorities· A naturally engaging and collaborative approach to building relationships with donors, volunteers, and MREA members· Experience with event planning, execution, and post-event evaluation· Familiarity with, and positive relationships within, the philanthropic community· Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to persuasively present ideas that will inspire donors, funders, and sponsors· Solves problems, demonstrates sound judgement, and maintains confidentiality· Strong technical skills including Office 365, website management, and experience implementing or utilizing a donor database management system is preferred· Knowledge of corporate board processes (knowledge of Roberts Rules of Order preferred)Other Beneficial Experience: · Project management· Policy development· Paralegal background· Indigenous studies/cultural awareness· Government relations/advocacyResponsibilities: Home Ownership Program Management· Manage applicant intake, review applications, and confirm eligibility· Liaise with educational providers, lending partner and other stakeholders· Arrange educational courses and monitor outcomes and completion· Maintain, update, and provide process and procedure documentation to applicants, REALTORS®, lender, and lawyers· Ensure all documentation and process are followed during house acquisition process· Ensure all timelines are met regarding applicable funding agreements· Provide support to applicants during intake, educational sessions, and home purchase acquisition, including long-term support to owner-families over program commitment termMajor Gift Management and Donor Stewardship: · Maintenance of all fundraising-related records and data· Input all donor information into databases· Ensure gifts are properly receipted, processed, and acknowledged according to established protocols, including:o Managing pledges and paymentso Developing and maintaining a master list of donors and prospectso Developing and maintaining a follow-up list of prospects for donations and campaignso Maintaining a donor recognition list; posting of donorso Preparation of thank-you letters· Develop donor correspondence; draft written support materials, promotional materials, and contribute to newsletter stories· Demonstrate exemplary customer service in all exchanges.Grant Writing and Fundraising: · Work within Canada Revenue Agency guidelines and relevant corporate by-laws· Keep up-to-date in fund development and planned giving best practices, trends, issues, techniques, related laws· Research and identify foundations and organizations that offer applicable grant funding; compose applications for grant funding; submit applications in accordance with grant requirements and deadlines· Respond to requests for proposals for government funding· Maintain contact with grantors regarding status, results, and feedback· Ensure final reports for grant funding are submitted on time· Endure proper recognition is given to grantors for any funding receivedPlanning and Events: · Ensuring successful implementation of institutional fundraising events such as an annual golf tournament, ensuring net projected targets are met/exceeded, and charities’ brands are advanced.· Maximize opportunities to build new relationships with funders and sponsors through strong event management and post-event stewardship· In conjunction with the finance team, oversee financial processing related to eventsSalary is competitive and commensurate with experience with an excellent benefits plan and flexible team environment.
