Delivering on our core values of Respect, Integrity, and Service Excellence.As a perennial “Top Manitoba Employer”, WAA prides itself as an organization that attracts engaged employees with the right skills, in the right place, and at the right time. http://www.waa.caJob Title: Manager, Parking & Commercial PartnershipsReports to: Director, Commercial Marketing & PartnershipsClosing Date: September 15, 2022The OpportunityReporting to the Director, Commercial Marketing & Partnerships, the Manager, Parking & Commercial Partnerships is responsible for the management and strategic development of the parking and ground transportation business at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport. The Manager, Parking & Commercial Partnerships, through the application of sound business principles, will strive to maximize revenue, gross margins, and customer satisfaction with parking & transportation services. In addition, the Manager, Parking & Commercial Partnerships will oversee lease management of key commercial partnerships for WAA.Responsibilities include:

  • Initiate and support the design, development and implementation of new and innovative products and services, including marketing initiatives to drive participation and margins.
  • Maximize WAA building assets and lease revenue through commercial lease agreement management, negotiating licenses and contracts.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor products for adaptation to Winnipeg market with focus to grow revenue, identify new markets and segments.
  • Manage direct reports by hiring, providing training, development and coaching, setting performance expectations, objectives, goals, and timelines for performance compliance, and to address, investigate and discuss matters that lead to discipline and termination.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to staff, consultants, and others in WAA on matters relating to the development, evaluation, operation and implementation of parking and transportation revenue opportunities and initiatives.
  • Responsible for day-to-day parking operations, of distinct parking products; Terminal Parkade, Economy parking, corporate program and Valet & Away.
  • Work closely with contracted service providers on the delivery of services, including parking, Valet & Away, rental car operators, taxi, Ride Share and hotel shuttles.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships regularly with counterparts at other airports and represent WAA at industry events and conferences.
  • Manage commercial tenant relationships through ongoing dialogue.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and WAA Rules and Regulations for service providers.
Selection Criteria include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Commerce with at least 5 years of related work experience.
  • 3 years of experience leading and managing staff and working in a collaborative fashion directly or in-directly.
  • Ability to develop and execute business strategies and plans that drive revenue and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Strong budgeting and cost management skills.
  • Superior oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-function business partners to achieve results.
  • Proven people-leadership skills.
  • An enthusiastic and optimistic outlook, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes despite challenged and a dynamic environment.
  • The ability to motivate others to achieve departmental goals and objectives in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to manage multiple initiatives with strong prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with airports, parking, transportation, travel and/or hospitality industry is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Commercial leasing is preferred.
