Job OverviewRAM Industries Inc. is an established manufacturing company seeking expertise and leadership in the role of an Mfg. Operations Manager. This position is located at our head office in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.RAM’s core business is selling the capabilities of its engineering expertise and manufacturing capabilities in the production of hydraulic cylinders. As such, the Manufacturing Operations Manager’s key responsibility is to support and complement the efforts of the Production Management team to increase factory output while meeting operational and product cost, quality, budget, and timeline objectives.Education/Experience: At least 10+ years of experience in roles within a manufacturing or processing environment is required. Post-secondary education in engineering, business, or related discipline is welcome. Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully led manufacturing teams through measurable gains and improvements that helped companies increase margins and gain market share. As RAM employs a high mix of a build-to-order production schedules, experience with ERP systems used in production planning and control is an asset.Duties: · Oversight of all aspects of production output and efficiency, including the ability for hands-on production management support if/when required;· Mentorship and support of the production team, including management of all aspects of workforce supervision, planning, training, evaluating, upgrading, and labour relations;· Responsibility for supply chain and materials management, including monitoring/coordination of engineering quoting standards, vendor relations, cost reduction initiatives, and procurement strategies. This includes oversight of inventory turns, make vs buy analysis, and monitoring industry trends and key input cost that impact RAM operations;· Strategic planning for mid to long term production including forward planning scenarios that may include modifications to factory layout or flow, equipment acquisitions and/or increased automation;· Driving continual improvement for organization effectiveness· Update and implement best practices and foster an innovation culture.· Management of the RAM ISO system and compliance to the standard throughout the organization; and· Oversight of Customer relations including reactive and proactive communications and successful resolution of issues, support, and requests made by the manufacturing department.Skills: · Strong business sense, positive attitude, and a high energy level to lead a growing manufacturing operation· High customer service ethic· Strong understanding of manufacturing operation, particularly in a metal manufacturing environment.
