Position:Red River Co-op is recruiting for Meat Clerk/Wrapper at our new Seasons of Tuxedo Food Store, located at 755 Sterling Lyon Parkway in Winnipeg, MB.Essential responsibilities of the Meat Clerk/Wrapper include but are not limited to the following:Be a liaison and public relations representative for the Co-op within the communities we serve.Deliver world-class customer service that is fast, friendly and efficient.Maintain sections of merchandise (fresh, smoked, and frozen meat) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure first-in, first-out rotation is followed at all times, and that close-dated product is reported to the Meat Manager.Ensure the Meat Department is properly stocked with merchandise and faced at all times.Receive, inspect, and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperature-controlled environment.Wrap, weigh, label and price cuts of meat for sale on self-serve counter.Place cuts of meat in service counter, so they will appear attractive to customers of the Co-op.Interact with and answer customer questions on how to cook or prepare cuts of meat, and be an ambassador for Co-op brand products.Assist Meat Manager in ordering duties and inventory control. Advise him or her of out-of-stocks or special requests from customers. Notify him or her of excessive spoilage, damage or shortages.Assist Meat Manager with periodic inventory counts as required.Maintain markdown records with respect to shrinkage and spoilage so as to maintain margin controls.Present a neat, clean, fresh, well-merchandised department and related work areas (sales floor, end caps, coolers, freezers, receiving area, warehouse, etc.)Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure department image and safety standards are followed. Ensure sanitation and cleanliness standards are to Co-op specifications, including cleaning of all equipment and display cases.Ensure that all food safety and food handling standards are strictly adhered to.Observe safety measures and report hazardous conditions immediately to the Meat Manager.Assist in the proper care and maintenance of all department equipment.Follow safe front-line loss prevention practices, and maintain a constant alert against unauthorized removal of merchandise.A full responsibility list will be provided to candidates selected for interviews.About You:Previous experience in a retail meat department, preferred but not required.Availability:Please clearly communicate your availability as this will be used to screen potential candidates.Total Rewards:Red River Co-op offers a competitive salary and benefits package including pension plan and employee discount.
