Job Description

Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Meat Cutter at our Food Store at our Stonewall Food Store. This position reports to the Meat Manager.Position:Essential responsibilities of the Meat Cutter include but are not limited to the following:

  • Be a liaison and public relations representative for the Co-op within the communities we serve.
  • Deliver world-class customer service that is fast, friendly and efficient.
  • Maintain sections of merchandise (fresh, smoked, and frozen meat) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure first-in, first-out rotation is followed at all times, and that close-dated product is reported to the Meat Manager.
  • Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats such as beef, pork, poultry and seafood.
  • Prepare value-added products such as fresh sausages, marinated meats, and other products.
  • Interact with and answer customer questions on how to cook or prepare cuts of meat, and be an ambassador for Co-op brand products.
  • Assist Meat Manager in ordering duties and inventory control.
  • Ensure that all food safety and food handling standards are strictly adhered to.
