Job Description

Edgeland Clinic (Mental Health)We are looking to hire a full-time Medical Office Assistant / Receptionist to join our awesome team located at Unit 218 - 2025 Corydon Avenue (Tuxedo Park Shopping Centre) in Winnipeg, MB.The candidate must demonstrate compassion, kindness, good interpersonal skills, be a good team player and be able to multitask in a fast paced environment.Position Requirements

  • Medical Office Assistant certificate;
  • PHIA (Personal Health Information Act) certification;
  • Knowledge of an EMR system (LibreMD or Accuro);
  • Previous experience in the medical field is an asset;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written);
  • Fluency in English;
  • Proficiency with medical terminology;
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Windows OS, Microsoft Office, e-mail and Internet;
  • Fast and accurate typing skills.
Job Description and Responsibilities
  • Greet patients when they arrive at the clinic;
  • Respond to inquiries by patients in a courteous manner;
  • New patient registration, checking in/out patients of our office including validating health cards;
  • Schedule, coordinate and confirm patient appointments, tests and referrals;
  • Answer phones, scan and fax documents;
  • Respond to all telephone inquiries and messages from patients;
  • Review telephone, mail and email messages;
  • Sort and file correspondence, and perform miscellaneous clerical duties such as answering emails and letters;
  • Update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR) and paper charts with all test results, clinical notes, demographics;
  • Type dictated reports and assessments;
  • Manage billing for services, including submissions, downloads and reconciliations;
  • Participate in other miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned as well as ordering supplies as needed;
  • Work collaboratively with other administrative support staff;
  • Keep the clinic clean and tidy on as needed basis.
