We are excited to welcome a person such as yourself with the right skills and a positive attitude to join our company and fulfill the growing needs and expectations of our valued customers while continuing to nurture TSC Nursery’s valued relationship with our corporate customer.Job SummaryThe Merchandising Coordinator is responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of our field merchandisers in the Manitoba market, which includes 5 stores in Winnipeg, 1 in Brandon, and 1 in Thunder Bay. This role also coordinates and implements the hiring and training of our lead and assistant merchandisers within this market. As well, this role imparts and enhances the product knowledge of our merchandising representatives within this region. As part of the Merchandising Coordinator’s duties, they will also field calls from our corporate customer’s stores and help our merchandising teams with order replenishment. Reporting directly to the Account Manager, the Merchandising Coordinator will also work closely with TSC Nursery’s inventory coordinators and logistics team to successfully execute our plant programs.Key Responsibilities

  • Summarize inventory and suggest replenishment strategies on a weekly basis to our merchandising representatives in the Manitoba market.
  • Assign store coverage and hour allocations for our merchandising representatives within the Manitoba market.
  • Support strategic product placement and quantities required for advertising or promotional campaigns by connecting with our inventory coordinators.
  • Facilitate queries from our customers or merchandisers and investigate their requests in a timely manner.
  • Recruit and train our merchandising representatives for the Manitoba market.
  • Follow up with our merchandising teams within Manitoba to ensure best practices are executed, and to provide coaching for those teammates requiring assistance or improvement.
  • Provide product knowledge training seminars to our customers and merchandisers.
  • Communicate daily with the Account Manager on the activities within the Manitoba market.
  • Provide a weekly schedule of the Merchandising Coordinator’s activities.
  • Seek and secure approval from the Account Manager one week in advance for all the Merchandising Coordinator’s weekly travel plans.
  • Secure approval from the Account Manager in advance for any overtime hours prior to incurring the overtime.
  • Manage and upload all communications to the Manitoba merchandising team utilizing the web-based app, Basecamp.
  • Request approval via email from the Account Manager for any additional hours required by any merchandising representative.
  • Review the summaries of hours recorded by each merchandising representative within the Manitoba market each week.
  • Report payroll data for Manitoba’s merchandising teams using the platform, PayWorks, each biweekly period.
  • Support the goals and sales plans of our plant programs by assisting our Manitoba merchandising teams in reaching those goals.
  • Work cohesively with all departments within TSC Nursery Sales and supply feedback based on results obtained by analyzing data.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all of our customers.
Job Requirements
  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • Basic plant knowledge would be an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially with Excel.
  • Previous experience merchandising, managing, or working for a marketing company.
  • Comfortable delivering presentations and using PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English (written and oral)
  • Organized and possessing effective communication skills.
  • Efficient and able to manage a demanding environment.
  • Works well under pressure and is able to meet project deadlines.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of small groups and meeting new people.
  • Available for travel within the Manitoba market.
  • Available to work Monday to Friday including weekends from March through to the end of June. Note: holiday plans will be booked outside of mid-April to mid-June.
