Job Description

Further information is available at www.newflyer.com.POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Purchasing Department, this position is responsible for executing the material supply plan to achieve 100% on time delivery to support production build in station. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Complete transactions in Oracle accurately to maintain data integrity and ensure that performance targets are met.
  • Develop and sustain a professional relationship with suppliers and customers.
  • Maintain supplier communication to ensure they have accurate information to support the business plan.
  • Resolve supply related issues with suppliers.
  • Submit engineering documentation to suppliers on a timely basis and support first article documentation requirements.
  • Support traffic personnel in securing required documentation for secure shipment of goods to our facilities.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • University or college graduate in Supply Management would be an asset.
  • Three years Purchasing or Planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Innovative problem-solver who can generate workable solutions and resolve complaints.
  • Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative.
  • Above average interpersonal skills combined with a professional attitude to provide and maintain excellent customer service.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems and inventory planning, MS Office, Oracle, and Excel skills are required.
