Job Description

BUYER, PROGRAMSNFI Parts™ is North America’s most comprehensive organization providing parts, technical publications, training, and support for buses and motor coaches. NFI Parts is the parts division of NFI Group, providing replacement parts for New Flyer® transit buses, MCI® motor coaches, ADL buses, ARBOC® vehicles, as well as the product lines for the acquired NABI and Orion parts businesses. Additionally, NFI Parts has extensive cross references for parts that are common with other bus, coach, and cutaway product lines and has a mature supply base and established relationships with over 1,000 suppliers. Further information is available at www.nfi.partsPOSITION SUMMARYAs a key member of our Procurement and Planning department, you will be responsible for the execution of procurement initiatives within NFI Parts organization to support transit and coach contract requirements. You will manage and support procurement, warehouse order fulfillment, and communicate with stakeholders ongoing status of orders, ensuring the best total cost delivered from a best in class supply base to achieve the overall goals of the company.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manage and execute procurement process to support transit and coach Customer Programs.
  • Manage sub-contract work with suppliers, including recognition of need, purchase order creation, coordination delivery dates, dropship of subcomponents, and return of completed assemblies to the Parts organization.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with Bid team specialists, CPM team members, and other cross functional areas.
  • Negotiate and maintain professional relations with suppliers to contribute to the competitiveness of the business by optimizing purchases within the respective category.
  • Responsible for maintaining Purchasing databases to ensure integrity of system data and provide necessary information to Management team and other buyers as necessary.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain management and/or related discipline
  • Two or more years of related experience in Business, Purchasing, or Supply Chain
  • Possess excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Adept with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
  • Experience of Oracle systems would be considered an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team-oriented environment
