Operations TechnicianLocation: Pinawa, ManitobaSchedule: Four (4) - 10 hour days - Monday to ThursdayJob SummaryUnder the supervision of the Waste Management Area (WMA) Senior Operations Technician/Technologist, the WMA Operations Technician/Technologist is responsible for the safe and effective operation of all WMA and Concrete Canister Storage Facility (CCSF) buildings and systems. This position is essential to ensure WMA/CCSF facilities, systems and functions are operated and maintained in compliance with applicable regulations and to provide a safe working environment for personnel working at the WMA/CCSF.The Operations Technician will operate facilities, systems and equipment, and oversee routine preventive maintenance, complete or assist with emergency repairs as necessary, and recognize trouble symptoms associated with equipment or system failure and take mitigating action as necessary. As part of the Whiteshell (WL) Operations team, the Operations Technician authorizes work permits and provides oversight of work being performed involving WMA/CCSF buildings, systems or areas of responsibility.Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) employees perform all duties in accordance with established health and safety and regulations/guidelines, policies and procedures (i.e. utilizing personal protective equipment as per safe work procedures). Notifies management or supervisor of all occurrences, injuries, illnesses or safety and health concerns which are likely to harm themselves, their co-workers or any other on the premises in a timely manner and in accordance with established reporting requirements.Education
