As the first point of contact, acts as receptionist for the General Office performing a variety of clerical duties related to teaching, research and financial. While greeting students, staff and visitors to the Department processes orders for materials and supplies, handles shipping and receiving and maintains department calendars for rooms and technical equipment. Is also the main contact to keep the Department website up-to-date with current information.The qualifications and experience we’re looking for: MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:-Completion of a formal training program in a related discipline from a recognized institution required.-An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.EXPERIENCE:-Two years of directly related office experience required.-Intermediate level experience using various functions within Microsoft Office 365 Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.-Experience using Adobe Acrobat, online calendars and purchasing software system is required.-Familiarity with website maintenance software is preferred.SKILLS & ABILITIES:-Excellent computer and typing skills (minimum 60 wpm) with a high degree of accuracy is required.-Knowledge of University of Manitobas specific software such as EPIC and FAST is required.-Must be familiar with operation and general functions of office machines, specifically multipurpose copier, printer.-Ability to cooperate well with others in the environment is required.-Ability to interact courteously, diplomatically and professionally with a variety of people, including academics, researchers, fellow workers, students and the general public is required.-Must be physically capable to perform duties of the position that may require lifting or moving boxes of files or material.-Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.Why the University of ManitobaAlong with being one of Manitoba’s top employers, we are proud to provide a collaborative and enriching work environment.
