Job Description

Position: Payroll Administrator Location: Division Office - WinnipegStart Date: To be determinedFTE: 7.25 Hours/Day, 5 Days/Week, 12 Months/YearTerm of Employment: PermanentSalary: $57,512.00 - $66,007.03 per yearUnionized/Non-Unionized: Non-UnionizedApplication Deadline: Friday, September 23, 2022 Under the general direction of the Accounting Manager, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for the preparation of regular and intermittent payrolls for staff of the Division.QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold or are pursuing Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation from the Canadian Payroll
Association
  • Two (2) to five (5) years computerized payroll experience
  • Knowledge of integrated computerized payroll applications
  • Knowledge of union collective agreements, Division regulations, policies, procedures and practices relating to payroll preparation and delivery
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team
  • Ability to handle high volume data entry with accuracy, meeting tight deadlines for payroll
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with multiple employee groups
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepares, transmits, edits and distributes unionized and non-unionized payrolls
  • Processes web-based records of employment
  • Assists with distribution of annual T4 statements
  • Corresponds and communicates with personnel and external agencies as required
  • Processes employee garnishments
  • Prepares and submits employee deductions (i.e. Union Dues, RRSP, Pension, etc.)
  • Reconciles financial accounts
  • Maintains confidentiality within and outside the organization
  • Respond to internal queries regarding employees’ pay or payroll procedures.
