Job Description

THE ST. JAMES-ASSINIBOIA SCHOOL DIVISION“Great Schools for Growing and Learning”Requires the Following:PAYROLL CLERK 100% (8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)Job Posting Number: 22/23-092DUTIES:The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and processing various payrolls. This will includesetting up new employees, entering all changes and terminations and calculating earnings anddeductions. Responsibilities also include reconciling benefit deductions and sick leave, makingsource deduction payments and issuing ROE’s. This position will act as back-up for the otherpayrolls as well as perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma, plus additional course work of up to one year.
  • Two to three years prior related experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with PCP certification or currently enrolled in the
CPA program.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to process a computerized payroll.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently (orally and in writing).
  • Knowledge and experience in working with spreadsheet software such as Excel.
  • Good knowledge of basic mathematical skills.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable to the Division.
