Overview:Reporting to the Manager, Estimating and Salvage Operations, the PDC Claims Operations Analyst is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of short and long-term corporate and operational metrics and processes, as well as conducting analysis related to policies, business rules and procedures. The position works as a member of project teams and leads small to medium scale projects.The position plans and conducts business studies to resolve moderately complex business problems and presents solutions, which will result in improvement to processes and programs. Solutions will, in most cases, impact other divisions, external stakeholders and partners, and/or customers. In the capacity of a project leader, the Estimating and Salvage Analyst coordinates the implementation of solutions in user areas.Responsibilities:Performs comprehensive data and statistical analysis related to claims, estimating standards, estimating metrics, CARS, Mitchell reports, Claims Response System, Mitchell compliance and other data sources.Develops operational reports, tables and charts to measure performance of Estimators and Salvage Staff.Writes clear, concise reports and prepares business case documents, cost/benefit analysis and feasibility studies, requirements documents, briefing notes, and presentations that outline findings and recommendations using MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint with a high degree of proficiencyPerforms market research of Crown Corporations to determine business solutions.Runs moderately complex queries for review and analysis in Business ObjectsAnalyzes the data outputPrepares reports to summarize dataPresents findings to Management and/or Executive as requiredAssists in the creation, development, and publishing of key performance metrics. Provides guidance and mentorship to departmental leadership and project teams, regarding all metrics.Monitors indicators and investigates exceptions.Conducts investigations to explore reasons for non-compliance or inconsistencies in metric results.Proposes new procedures to enhance business processes, operations, and information process flows.Prepares annual budgets and forecasts to help control the department’s overall financial health.Develops and impleWorks collaboratively with Knowledge Management Services (KMS) to ensure any operational changes are documented in KnowledgeNet and communicated to frontline audiences.Supports project implementation as a project resource. Liaises in the development of associated procedures, documentation, and training.Qualifications:Education and Experience:Certificate or diploma in Business Analysis or a related discipline.Three years of related analysis experience, with a focus in data and/or financial analysis and related processes.ORDegree in Commerce, Business Administration or a related discipline.Education in Business Analysis or a related discipline is an asset.Two years of related analysis experience, with a focus in data and/or financial analysis and related processes.Technical Knowledge and Skills:Intermediate interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to present information effectively to various audiences.Working knowledge of business computer applications such as CARS, IWS, Salvage Management System, Vehicle Tracking System and Mitchell Solutions.Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and SharePoint.Ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships.Knowledge of project management techniques.Intermediate research, analytical, investigative and conceptual thinking skills.
