At Lafarge Canada Inc., safety comes first, collaboration matters and diversity is celebrated with people who share our desire to continually make our materials better.Do you have the drive, the skills, and the passion to join usOverview:Lafarge Precast is looking for an experienced Precast Journeyman Carpenter.We are looking for an experienced, safety-conscious, and quality-orientated Carpenter to work full-time at the Lafarge Precast Plant in Winnipeg.Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints needed for concrete precast forms
  • Assist other carpenters with the assembly of the framework
  • Prepare layouts of forms from drawings provided (specifications and codes specially used in Precast formwork)
  • Measure, cut, and assemble in accordance with the specifications provided, using different power tools including hand saws and table saws
  • Knowledge of different kinds of wood that would be appropriate to use depending on the size of the form being built
  • Fabricate and erect formwork and bulkheads
  • Install all phases of slab preparation from formwork and stone to reinforcing steel and vapor barrier
  • Anchor forms structures in place with anchor rods, steel cables, planks, wedges, and timbers
  • Please note that this is a Winnipeg-based, plant location, which runs all year round indoors full-time
Qualifications:
  • Journeyman Carpenter trade certificate
  • CSTS-09 and other safety certificates are considered assets
  • Carpentry Experience in a precast setting is an asset
  • Team Player and safety orientated
