Job Description

You’re a Producer. You want to help share impactful and fun content with the world. You’ll be making sure we stay on schedule, on budget, and on topic. This is an opportunity to be creative, finding everyday stories and connecting them with an audience. Kinda like a family dinner, we each have a specialty dish to bring to the table. You’re in charge of the spreadsheet, making sure we have no duplicates and a full meal, from salads to desserts. I’ll bring appetizers, it’ll be fun.WorkerBee.TV uses video and multimedia strategically to inform, educate and inspire their audiences. We operate in a client-intimate, customized products and services organization where we plan, create and deliver video and programming for our clients who use our platform to maximize engagement and revenues, from a social media video to a multi-season, docuseries.Core duties and responsibilities: A Producer’s responsibilities vary, depending on the series. Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop concepts, budgets, and proposals for docuseries that enable multiple distribution strategies across the needs of our existing clients. We want to share our clients’ stories with the world, you’re going to help us do it
  • Work independently and with our account management and sales teams to identify market needs where this model will provide value. What’s a story without an audience
  • Research and identify sources of content and funding that are viable and qualify for both quantitative and qualitative factors to move forward with a series. One hit wonders are fun, but multi-season series give us more time to have an impact
  • Be responsible for the quality, timeliness, and profitability of production schedules
  • Manage workflow through our online project management software to ensure that we are keeping to schedules, budget and quality deliverables
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders and team members in defining project scope and budget
  • Manage team of Associate Producer(s), Editor(s) and Writer(s) by mentoring, supporting and assigning work to team members
  • Define quality standards on all technical and creative elements of project; participate in quality assurance through vetting scripts and monitoring production deliverables
  • Manage production budgets, timelines, vendor relationships and docuseries subject relationships. Help us Docuseries Producer, you’re our only hope – of staying on budget, task, schedule etc.
  • Act as an escalation point for production related issues
  • Manage the data required for content management and external reporting for standards, regulations and for easy management of content use in other formats or markets
  • Manage external contractor’s relationships, tasks, and expenses
  • Grow the team through employee and contractor development in order to be able to scale the team to meet project and general business growth requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
Attitudes, skills and characteristics that are required to support your success in this role will include, but are not limited to the following list:
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration or an education in any Production and Post-Production related field such as Broadcasting, Creative Communications, Media, Film Studies, etc.
  • 3+ years of previous experience in video production, television, documentaries or documentary series
  • Previous experience supervising, leading and mentoring a team
  • 3+ years of project management experience specifically working with forecasting, budgeting and schedules
  • Excellent and responsive customer service for both internal and external clients/partners
  • Ability to multitask and manage the changes that come in managing external and internal resources against project specifications, deliverables and deadlines
  • Strong decision-making and leadership abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal and conflict management abilities
  • Creative storytelling and communication skills
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in all aspects of production
  • Passion for making quality video content that aligns with the business and creative objectives defined
  • You take your work seriously, but not yourself!
