We work with children, teens, adults, and families who need help to improve their literacy skills. We work with a variety of partner organizations to deliver volunteer-run, community-based programs across Canada. Frontier College is accredited under the Imagine Canada Standards program.We are seeking a mature, responsible, committed, and self-motivated individual who identify as part of the Indigenous community to fill the Program Assistant position in our Truth and Reconciliation program being offered in collaboration with CEDA, and Marymound Pathways in Winnipeg, MB. Preference given to individuals in Indigenous Studies, Education, Social Services, or related field/discipline.The Program Assistant will be expected to work independently under the supervision of the Community Coordinator to deliver a diverse array of Indigenous curriculum with investigation and learning around Residential Schools in a safe, caring environment. The Program Assistant must be prepared to demonstrate initiative and creativity to engage the youth in the Truth and Reconciliation curriculum. This program will allow the youth, aged 13-21, to learn about reconciliation and the Residential School experience. With extra support needed for the youth to investigate the Residential Schools, the Program Assistant will need to be supportive of the emotional needs of all involved.Overall AccountabilityFrontier College Program Assistants work very closely as a team with our partners, and Frontier College volunteers. All Frontier College positions work under the remote mentoring/supervision and report directly to the Community Coordinator and/or Regional Manager.Major Duties and Responsibilities
