Job Description

Clan Mothers Healing Village is seeking a full-time Programs Assistant.Clan Mothers Healing Village (CMHV) is a charitable organization creating a healing village on 160 acres of land on Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba. CMHV is an Indigenous-Led, matriarchal healing community for survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Clan Mothers also leads several social enterprises for the purposes of training, sustaining, and expanding the reach and inclusion of the Clan Mothers Healing Village and Knowledge Centre.Clan Mothers Healing Village utilizes traditional Indigenous Ways of Knowing to govern operations, guide expansion, contribute to the wellbeing of all Clan Mothers community members, and provide true healing for all those individuals CMHV encounters. CMHV seeks to simultaneously decolonize systems and revitalize Indigenous understanding to function and grow in a good way. All Clan Mothers community members seek only to end the exploitation of human beings and to facilitate healing not only of people, but of the land as well.Clan Mothers offers opportunities to those who seek employment that is inclusive, transparent, responsible, considerate, and deeply steeped in Indigenous teachings, matriarchal systems, lunar calendar schedules, the Seven Sacred teachings, and Ceremonies.Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the efficient management of several projects & programs
  • Manage and organize paperwork and e-files for multiple funding contracts
  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications, reports & budgets and in program development
  • Attend program meetings as Recording Secretary & follow up on actionable items
  • Manage the calendars of the Director of Healing Programs & Vision Keeper
Qualifications:
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and take initiative
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Apps, Google Suite and Adobe, as well as client support software such as ShareVision
  • Awareness of trauma informed practices while working with marginalized people
  • Willingness to work collaboratively within a team that is grounded in Matriarchal Indigenous teachings
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
  • Undergraduate degree, College diploma or equivalent in related fields. Lived Experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and maintain effective relationships with others
  • Experience working with a team and creating an environment that fosters collaboration
Additional Requirements:
  • The Programs Assistant will work from our office in downtown Winnipeg
  • Occasional evenings & weekends
  • Occasional travel to the Healing Village property
  • Participation in Indigenous teachings & ceremonies
Start Date:
  • December 1, 2022 or earlier
Salary Range:
  • $24 - $30 per hour
