Job Description

We’re looking for a Project Coordinator that enjoys all aspects of project coordination including drawings, plans and materials, and collaborating with team members to make every job a success. If you’re a recent graduate of a mechanical engineering degree and this sounds like you, we’d love you on our team!This job might be for you if you:

  • Have your mechanical E.I.T. designation (we have a P.Eng. on staff who will provide you with professional mentorship)
  • Have experience completing drawings in 2D and 3D software programs
  • Have experience with folder systems and project coordination duties such as reviewing drawings, BOM’s, coordinating with customers and meeting deadlines
  • Have excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to maintain strong costumer and vendor relationships
  • Are highly organized, have a commitment to detail, and possess strong technical writing skills
  • Have strong time management skills and the ability to organize workload under tight timelines
  • Are skilled at interpreting complex requirements and simplifying them into clean processes
  • Have experience on a University SAE team (or equivalent experience) is an asset
  • Are mechanically inclined

A few things you’ll focus on:
  • Assist the Project Manager by coordinating tasks such as project plans and ensuring follow-up.
  • Produce drawings, including 3D models; 2D line/P&ID drawings; assembly, laser cut and final shop drawings.
  • Being part of a team that provides solutions to complex customer problems, deciphering the challenge and translating it from sales to the service shop.
  • Maintain, develop, and audit standard operating procedures for building products and training employees.
  • Provide design work, R&D, and guidance on new and existing products, assisting both the office and service shop.
  • Develop, refine, and improve product manuals for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with Engineering & QC Manager on drawing requirements. Help collect and interpret data, create cost estimates, research ideas, and include check points where needed.
  • Lead the organization and maintenance of file system for all company drawings. Audit and continuously improve.
  • Provide backup to the Project Manager in their absence.
