St. James-Assiniboia School Division“Great Schools for Growing and Learning”REQUIRESProject Officer (100%)Working under the direction of the Manager of Facilities and Future Development, this position is involvedwith the design, tendering and inspection of maintenance and renovation projects. Projects may involvearchitectural, structural, mechanical, and civil work.QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Design or other related discipline or anacceptable equivalent combination of education and experience including building trades involvedwith maintenance and construction. Ability to prepare project estimates, reports, design drawings and specifications. Ability to research codes and standards related to building construction and to work independentlywith minimum direction to develop creative designs and solve technical problems. Knowledge of codes and bylaws and engineering/architectural/construction practices related tobuildings and grounds. Two or three years previous experience with building/infrastructure maintenance. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Proficiency with CAD drafting programs and other computer applications such as MS Excel, Word,Vectorworks and Microsoft Project.
