Job Description

The Quality Assurance Analyst is accountable for ensuring a positive WCLC end-user experience through the implementation of test strategies for our software applications. They ensure that our product delivers excellent usability, functionality and performance to the user through: Requirement, Design and Functional testing. We have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Analyst with experience in software manual testing, automation and performance testing to join our Winnipeg, Head Office.Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Review software specifications and user requirements
  • Recommend, establish, maintain and execute manual and automated testing processes
  • Liaise with QA team, software development, vendors and users through the software development life cycle to identify and resolve problems
  • Create, modify and execute test plans, use cases, test cases and scripts to verify business requirements for application functionality
  • Update testing task statuses and provide estimates and status reports to project stakeholders and management
  • Perform integration and regression testing
  • Review and analyze test results; submit, track and validate root-cause analysis for defects
  • Maintain test systems including backup and restore
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing and walkthroughs
  • Create and maintain department testing environment, data and documentation
Qualification and Competencies
  • Post-secondary education in relevant software or business discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in all aspects of Quality Assurance and testing disciplines, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered
  • Excellent organization skills including management of multiple assignments, setting personal goals and targets and document management
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Experience with the web services stack and service transport is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of a combination of any of the following technologies is considered an asset: JIRA, SQL, SOAP, XML, TIBCO Enterprise Surface Bus software, Linux/Unix
  • Familiarity working in agile methodology is considered an asset
  • Experience with security testing a definite asset
