Building Products & Concrete Supply LP is a joint venture between Qualico Developments and Lehigh Hanson Materials Ltd.Building Products & Concrete Supply LP provides a full benefit package including health and dental benefits and a GRSP/DPSP option after three months of employment.Job OverviewReporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Receptionist/Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for providing visitors with the company’s first impression as well as ensuring general safety policies are applied, while handling routine clerical and housekeeping tasks.Your day-to-day responsibilities include:· Providing a positive first impression to visitors of the company and setting the tone for the rest of the person’s interaction with other personnel.· Controlling entry access to the organization, ensuring general safety policies are uniformly applied.· Responding to phone, voicemail, email inquiries, and distributing or directing appropriately.· Handling incoming and outgoing mail, and shipping envelopes or packages by courier.· Preparing correspondence using Microsoft Office, matching sorting and filing of paperwork.· Completing data entry and providing clerical support to the Accounting department.· Coding accounts payable invoices and entering in accounting package, Great Plains.· Assisting with payment runs as needed and vacation coverage for Accounts Payable.· Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of common office areas such as reception, lunch room, meeting rooms and boardroom.· Assisting with organization and coordination of staff events as required.Essential requirements· Minimum 1 year of experience working in a professional office environment.· Office assistant diploma or completion of related courses is required.· Business and professional communication coursework is desirable as well as an introductory accounting or bookkeeping courses.· Prior experience with MS Office Suite is required.· Exposure to Great Plains is an asset; some accounting program exposure is required.· Working knowledge of the Mitel phone system is desirable.· Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy.Work ConditionsPrimarily works in an office setting during regular business hours.
