Job Description

If you are fascinated by the dynamic nature of Western Canada’s agricultural sector and excited by the opportunity to tell its evolving story, Glacier FarmMedia invites you to apply for a spot on our team.We are searching for two individuals to join our award-winning journalists providing news, analysis and technical coverage of agriculture for farmers.These are multifaceted roles that require a keen interest in reporting science, business, policy, technology and human-interest stories. Our stories are delivered through print, digital and multimedia platforms.If you are a successful candidate, you will be assigned to the editorial team for one of our Western publications.Our reporters:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication, writing and storytelling skills;
  • Meet deadlines;
  • Deliver engaging content that requires a minimum of editing for grammar and punctuation;
  • Adhere to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism due to their training and/or experience;
  • Display an ability to initiate and execute story development with a minimum of supervision;
  • Use photos, video, and audio to complement their print stories;
  • Travel through their region of coverage and occasionally cover national and international events;
  • Work in a supportive team environment;
  • Invest themselves in staying abreast of the changing information needs of farmers and the agricultural sector;
