Job Description

Highlights of this opportunity:We are seeking a skilled journalist who is ready to join our Winnipeg team as a Reporter/Correspondent. If you would like to chase exciting stories and contribute to our talented news crew in the beautiful city of Winnipeg, then we would love to hear from you.

  • Cover daily breaking news; meeting and developing new contacts as you travel nearby and to remote communities;
  • Join a team that provides coverage of the issues facing Indigenous communities locally, nationally and worldwide;
  • Craft high quality stories while having creative control;
  • Ability to appear on camera as needed;
  • Use your strong communication skills while interacting with the public and remote colleagues.
Your accomplishments and experience include:
  • A degree/diploma in journalism or related field with proven experience related to journalism;
  • Ability to work under pressure when a story is breaking;
  • Basic understanding of social media;
  • Curiosity to get to the bottom of issues affecting communities across the province;
  • Possess solid judgment, research techniques and the ability to be flexible;
  • A strong ability to articulate and effectively communicate issues relevant to Indigenous communities;
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of broadcast technology;
  • A valid driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract.
