Current registration with College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM). Adult Education Certificate required (consideration will be given to individuals with 3 years direct experience in Adult Education with healthcare components). Three years of direct experience in long tern care, and minimum two years supervisory/management experience. Proficiency with the use of MDS clinical database, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Able to obtain satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Adult Abuse Registry clearance.Clinical Practice/Resident Care - collaboration with the interdisciplinary team for the promotion of quality of life, effective communication, continuity of care and best practice for resident/families at Fred Douglas Lodge. Active participation in planning resident care, delivery of resident care, outcome of resident care and resident care satisfaction.Program and Resource Management - participation in the planning/development of the strategic plan for the Nursing Department. Identifies, analyzes and advises the Director of Care on trends/issues within the department that impact on service and quality.Facility Education and Quality Assurance - development, implementation and deliverance of required educational programs identified through facility direction, WRHA, Manitoba Personal Care Home Standards. Participation of regional and facility quality assurance committees and programs (IC, WS&H, wound care, MDS/RAI coordination, corporate orientation)Human Resources Management - In conjunction/consultation with the DOC, monitors and manages FDL employee performance indicators. Evaluation of nursing department service delivery, adherence to best practice, policies/procedures and conducting performance appraisals.The conditions of work may involve exposure to unpredictable resident behaviour, injury from sharps and other instruments.Hours of assignment are Monday - Friday, with occasional evening and weekend.Quick Apply
