TERRITORY SALES REPRESENTATIVE – MANITOBA/SASKATCHEWAN MAIBEC is a dynamic Quebec company recognized for its leadership in the wood processing industry. MAIBEC has 12 sites in Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Stoughton, Massachusetts and more recently in British Columbia. Recognized as an employer of choice in the regions where it is established, MAIBEC offers a stimulating environment that ensures the professional and human development of its people.Maibec is seeking an inspired and results-oriented Territory Sales Representative to support the growth of their business in Canada’s Prairies Region. The successful candidate will be based in either Manitoba or Saskatchewan, and will be responsible for cultivating new customer relationships, generating brand awareness, creating demand, and generating pull through sales of Maibec’s high-end building products. This self-starter will be independent and have very strong organizational communication, writing, presentation, and follow up skills.RESPONSIBILITIES: The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, and experience in managing a region of customers through in-person meetings, sales calls, and regular correspondence. Experience in the building products field is an asset, especially with industry professionals including Dealers, Contractors, Architects, and Builders.

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase business and accomplish/exceed quarterly goals
  • Maintain and grow existing customer base
  • Effectively use the company marketing initiatives and CRM data to connect with prospects.
  • Proactively engage dealers and end-user customers to increase collaboration and customer expansion
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with Distributor representatives and make regular joint sales calls on target accounts
  • Provide in-field training, both in hands on environments and board room settings
  • Answer key influence questions about products, prices, availability, applications and terms
  • Deliver regular feedback to management regarding performance needs as well as market conditions
  • Effectively communicate with the inside sales and customer service support teams
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of Company’s building products offering

  • The ability to effectively present information publicly
  • The ability to travel using common forms of transportation (vehicle, train, flight as needed)
  • The ability to demonstrate company values of innovation, integrity, agility, flexibility and teamwork
  • The ability to manage the sales cycle and accurately forecast
  • The ability to resolve conflict and complete tasks under stressful situations
CREDENTIALS:
  • Salary starting at $55,000 per year depending on experience plus incentive pay (bonus)
  • Corporate car provided
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years related sales experience, with building materials experience preferred
  • Certificates & License: Valid driver’s license. Vehicle provided. Clean driving record required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, Business and Sales Training Certificates an asset
  • Experience working with Salesforce, or a similar CRM program is a definite asset
  • Experience with common office programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
  • As a bilingual company, candidates who are able to communicate in both English and French are preferred.
