Become part of a strong and successful company that’s trusted by millions of Canadians to do the right thing.Be your best at Canada Life.We are looking for an SAP Basis AdministratorRole descriptionAs part of a team of IS professionals that comprise a Winnipeg based SAP Centre of Excellence providing sustainment and development services to Canada and Europe, the SAP Basis Administrator will fulfil system administration responsibilities for our SAP Enterprise Application solutions.We are seeking talented technologists interested in beginning a career sustaining and developing our global SAP platforms. We are introducing multiple new SAP technologies within our Global Corporate Technology solutions space and are looking for highly motivated and self-directed individuals that thrive on learning and embracing new challenges.What you will doAct as an integral part of a talented group of SAP support team membersProvide technical (hands on) support for SAP operational issuesRespond and solve incidents and issues that may occur on our SAP systemsPerform monitoring and performance tuning on SAP systemsPerform monitoring and performance tuning on Oracle and HANA databasesCoordinate the implementation of configuration changesConfigure and manage all additional platform capabilities, including job scheduling, output management, backup management, technical security, and technical connectivity between software componentsParticipate in SAP system installations and upgradesParticipate in the On-Call rotation to minimize and resolve operational issuesWhat you will bringDegree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of training and experienceIdeal experience: 3 – 5 years as a Linux / Unix system administrator, preferably with Red Hat LinuxKnowledge of and ability to use scripting & programming languagesSolid understanding of network servicesEffective internal consulting skills with a strong customer service orientationCommunicates in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbalGood interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to adapt to change and perform effectively under pressureEffective planning and organizational skillsThrives in an environment that is complex and constantly evolvingKnowledge of relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server would be an assetKnowledge of SAP Basis technology would be an assetBe your best at Canada Life- Apply todayWe are one of Canada's top 100 employers!Canada Life serves the financial security needs of more than 13 million people across Canada, with additional operations in Europe and the United States.
