NorWest Co-op Community Health –Employment OpportunityPOSITION: Skill Development Worker Gilbert Park Wrap ProjectPROGRAM: Community DevelopmentRESPONSIBLE TO: Community Development CoordinatorSTATUS: 1.0 EFT 37.5 hours a week, 18 month term. Days, evenings andweekendsPOSITION SUMMARY:The position is part of the Community Development Team’s Family ResourceCentre Initiative. The position will work with the WRAP model to provide directsupport for children and youth with complex needs. As the needs of childrenand youth help determine the work schedule, the position will need to beavailable for day, evening and weekend work. The position will work directly incommunity with client. During Covid 19, all necessary health protocols andprecautions will be in place.QUALIFICATIONS1. High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree an asset.2. Experience with WrapAround an asset3. Minimum 1 year experience working with children and youth withcomplex needs4. Knowledge of community resources for youth5. Strong communication and problem solving skills.6. Empathetic, non-judgmental approach.7. Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team in a variety of settings8. Knowledge of crisis intervention and harm reduction principles9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills10. Awareness and sensitivity to issues of cultural diversity and colonialism11.
