Headquartered in Headingley, MB, Hollyhock operates in Winnipeg and various locations around Manitoba.Hollyhock has been working as General Contractor and Subcontractor since 2013, providing clients with quality services and satisfactory results while combining our knowledge with energy efficiency implementations. Our services include pre-construction, execution and project closure and handover in many new homes, renovations and various commercial projects.About This Opportunity: We are currently looking for a Skilled Construction Worker with verifiable experience in home construction including works in carpentry, foundation work with Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) and general construction site experience.The candidate must have experience or an important exposure to interpreting construction drawings, leading small to medium-sized construction crews, supporting site coordination, following construction schedules, and performing Health and Safety duties for safety compliance up to COR standards as we are COR Certified and using various software applications to access essential tools for communication, coordination and safety.The company is looking to increase its capacity to welcome more projects in its busy projects schedule.   • Use of hand and power tools to build and erect structures using various construction materials
  • Assist in the renovation, construction, and repair of structures made of wood, steel, concrete or other materials.
  • Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas.
  • Assist tradespersons in construction tasks.
  • Supervise temporarily the worksite, observing safety and working conditions.
  • Removal of construction debris at the construction site as directed.
  • Clean and pile salvaged construction materials as indicated.
  • Operate tools under the supervision of skilled tradesperson or after having received adequate orientation under the Occupational Health and Safety Plan.
  • Supply and mobilize materials at construction sites as directed.
  • Use of construction software, Buildertrend.
  • Use of Site Docs software for Health and Safety program compliance.
  • Comply and support the Occupational Health and Safety Program.
  • Participate in orientation, training and self-improvement learning initiatives in the construction field.
  • Continuous change of tasks in the construction site.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required:
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Valid Driver’s license (Class 5F) – You may be asked to drive the company’s vehicles.
  • Reliable vehicle for your own transportation.
  • Must be physically able to perform all required tasks that involve continuous walking, sitting, standing, climbing, lifting, balancing and handling of tools and materials.
  • Must be able to work outdoor during adverse seasonal weather conditions, and uneven terrains and always follow PPE requirements.
  • Have steel-toed safety boots and a hard hat.
Qualifications:
  • Basic safety training for a construction environment.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in construction. A combination of various backgrounds in home and commercial construction including technical education, training and certifications will be considered.
  • Previous experience with ICF forms for foundations.
  • Excellent communication skills as the position involve mostly teamwork tasks and following instructions.
