Job descriptionCompany summary:Willis College is a professional development and educational institution providing skills training for experienced professionals and those starting a new career. The college has a long, outstanding history (since 1866!) of serving in-demand skills to the government, businesses, and technology organizations in the Ottawa / Carleton region of eastern Ontario. We are consistently meeting the demands of the workforce by creating and offering highly sought-after programs that lead to meaningful careers.Summary of positionAs a Student Admissions Advisor, you will be the first contact for any potential new students. It is your job to present the first impression of the College to a prospective student, demonstrating a knowledgeable, caring approach through prompt contact, informed responses, and respectful interactions. We are looking for a driven professional with 5+ years of sales and relationship building experience. You should also be friendly, energetic, positive, have strong interpersonal skills and a pleasant telephone voice. You should also be a master multitasker and crush deadlines. Outbound calls to those who have an interest in the College is a key component of this role as making a connection with a prospective student often takes multiple attempts.Duties:

  • Recruit qualified candidates for the colleges academic programs in a compliant, appropriate, and professional manner.
  • Provide program information, routine guidance, and assistance to potential students on matters related to enrollment and the admissions process.
  • Observe and adhere to all Company policies and best practices.
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate course of action.
  • Make quality, outbound follow-up, and confirmation calls to prospective students.
  • Participate in campaign strategies as proposed by management.
  • Meet with students and act as a resource in completing and reviewing Student Assistance Applications and collecting account payments as required.
  • Able to network with businesses to build relationships and further the exposure of Willis College locally and across Canada.
  • Flexibility to work evenings & weekends will be required from time-to-time to attend career fairs, open houses, business development networking events and other events scheduled into the evening.
  • Various administrative tasks as required.
Skills and abilities:
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Have excellent people skills and are intuitive to client’s needs.
  • Giving professional presentations.
  • Not buckling under pressure and being very target driven.
  • Being computer literate in software such as Microsoft Word/Excel.
  • Working well as part of a bigger sales team but also being able to deliver and work independently.
  • Strong telephone skills: prior experience with high volume calls is an asset.
  • Will use company approved scripts and approaches during telephone calls and will be responsible to enter information in a company database.
  • Will observe and adhere to all company policies and best practices and comply with related governmental regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in a sales and relationship building role.
  • Experience in admissions recruiting, education, or customer service. Contact centre outbound experience is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education is an asset.
  • Experience working with internet-based communication tools.
