Studio Fitness Team Leads are proud brand ambassadors consistently showcasing and promoting our studio fitness offerings through social media, marketing and promotion channels. You are an exceptional social media influencer, who remains culturally literate and keenly responsive to all studio fitness matters.The Studio Fitness Team Lead is a social butterfly who acts as a team captain, supporting the department to achieve its goals through practical goal setting, encouragement, and coaching. They are accountable for swiftly collecting and handling member and guest feedback and complaints. As a Studio Fitness Team Lead, a typical day might include the following:
  • Create and lead semi-annual workshops in your assigned area (Yoga, Dance, Strength, or Cycle) to train and educate instructors on class formats.
  • Teach 3 - 8 studio fitness classes per week
  • Conduct class evaluations as necessary and instructed by the Studio Fitness Manager
  • Lead by example and engage with all center users in a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner.
  • Display extensive working knowledge of industry standards and practices, including product details and company services offered by Altea Active.
  • Assist the Studio Fitness Manager with sub requests and entering changes in both software’s
  • Craft and propose new concepts to build and engage the studio fitness community (ex. social groups, social events etc.)
  • Schedule studio fitness content publications across platforms
  • Engage with online audience by responding to comments and viewer feedback
  • Exhibits unwavering authenticity and thoughtfulness about our company’s vested interest
  • Review your audience’s feedback to ascertain their insights
  • Ensure the safety of both team members, members, and guests within the area.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs of the studios to complete inventory and assist with maintaining the studio equipment (ie: AGF hammocks, Float Fit boards, Bosu and Stability Balls)
  • Monitor department issues and member complaints to define patterns and work to lessen those recurring issues.
  • Regularly audit customer service to ensure all service standards are carried out effectively, correctly, and thoroughly.
  • Attend all relevant team meetings, contribute knowledge and advice to improve the overall performance of the department.
  • Ensure all team members follow the proper steps for sub-requests and approved in a timely fashion.
  • Cooperate with the Studio Fitness Manager to oversee team members performance and, if necessary, personally carry out job duties to ensure the highest quality of work.
  • Create a cheerful and productive work environment that inspires proactivity and provide opportunities for advancement.
Education and Expertise
  • Post-secondary education relating to the health and fitness industry/recreation management is an asset
  • Must have certification in group fitness or training relevant to their classes
  • Cycle experience/leading a cycle program is an asset
  • At least 1+ years in a leadership role is an asset
  • At least 2+ years of experience instructing studio fitness classes and managing programs with diverse populations is an asset
  • Tech-savvy with well-honed marketing and social media abilities
  • Amicable, culturally aware disposition with the ability to identify with broader societal causes and trends.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (required to have a minimum of Emergency First Aid and CPR certification) required before the start date and must be maintained throughout employment. CPR is to be renewed annually.
  • All team members must provide a recent Criminal Background Check before the commencement of training and work
