Job Description

St. James-Assiniboia School Division“Great Schools for Growing and Learning”Our Division is looking to fill the following positions:SUMMER GROUNDSPERSON (Several Positions)Responsibilities:

  • Planting/pruning of shrubs, flowers, vines, trees.
  • Trimming weeds, shrub/flower bed maintenance.
  • Picking up debris/garbage.
  • Cutting and aerating lawns.
  • Preparing sports fields.
  • Some painting of playground equipment and repairs.
  • Fence maintenance, repair and painting.
Qualifications:
  • College/University Students.
  • Previous experience would be an asset.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Manitoba Driver’s License.
EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: May 15 to August 25, 2023 (approximately).HOURS OF WORK: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to FridaySUMMER PAINTERS (Several Positions)Responsibilities:• Under the supervision of Division painters, assists in the painting of exterior and interior buildingsowned and operated by the School Division.Qualifications:
  • College/University Students.
  • Previous experience would be an asset.
EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: July 3 to August 18, 2023 (approximately).HOURS OF WORK: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to FridayRATE OF PAY FOR BOTH POSITIONS: $13.88 to $14.55 per hour + 4% vacation pay (currently underreview)The St. James-Assiniboia School Division is proud to employ staff who represent the diverse community itserves and is committed to providing an inclusive and barrier free work environment.
