The opportunity:Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Technology Infrastructure & CISO, the System Administrator will maintain, manage, and enhance the IT system & network infrastructure of the organization according to industry best practice.Key responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining, managing, and enhancing the IT system & network infrastructure of the organization according to industry best practice, including but not limited to, Windows & Linux Server, Virtualization Server (VMware), and web application firewall.
  • Assisting in planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring, and testing of IT projects.
  • Managing and supervising the IT service desk and providing 2nd tier technical support services to computer users.
  • Providing incident, event, license, assets, and configuration management.
  • Coordinating the procurement process for all IT related matters.
  • Conducting relevant IT training and develop training materials.
  • Assessing, initiating, and recommending new computing technologies.
  • Assisting in project scope and risk management across projects.
  • Assisting in vendor evaluation and negotiation, such that the IT services and products are procured to meet the organization objectives.
  • Liaising with vendors and users in relevant IT projects.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent experience and education.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in an IT Help Desk / IT Infrastructure Management environment.
  • Previous experience in a project management environment, working with computer assets management system projects.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is an asset.
  • Fluency in WordPress, DNS, and Web Application Firewall.
  • Expert-level knowledge and troubleshooting experience in VMware, Azure, Microsoft 365, Linux Server, and AWS.
  • AWS and Microsoft certification is an asset.
  • An ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • A reliable, consistent work ethic.
  • An excellent attitude and commitment to providing extraordinary service.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, sufficient to deal with numerous activities with varying degrees of priority.
  • A demonstrated high proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in both French and English (written and oral) is an asset.
