Job Description

The opportunity:Reporting to the Associate Vice President, PMO, the Senior Technical Project Manager will be accountable for the coordination and completion of cross-functional, technical, and business programs and projects of varying complexity and size, within scope, timelines, and quality targets. The Project Manager is responsible for advancing Wellington Altus’ corporate strategic commitments and enterprise business applications through Program and Project delivery, acting as the hub to coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of multiple projects.Key responsibilities include:
  • Determining, defining, and capturing project scope and objectives including success criteria and value-delivery, involving all relevant internal stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Working with stakeholders to define and manage the scope, strategy, requirements, and implementation of projects.
  • Defining, analyzing, and setting target outcomes using data and analytics as key vehicles to drive improvements and measure progress, ROI, and success criteria of project/program.
  • Ensuring that projects are delivered on-time, within scope, budget, and quality targets.
  • Predicting and managing resources needed to reach objectives in an effective and efficient manner and ensuring resource availability and allocation.
  • Developing, managing, and tracking detailed project schedules to monitor and track progress.
  • Tracking and providing project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, performance, adjustments, and progress.
  • Managing changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs and adjusting as needed.
  • Establishing, managing, coordinating, and maintaining relationships with the project team - both internal and third parties/vendors through the project lifecycle.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating/solving, documents while controlling project risks and issues that impede successful delivery.
  • Reporting and escalating to manage risks, actions and decisions as needed.
  • Reviewing and accepting vendor invoices.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
  • Delegating project tasks based on team members individual strengths, skill sets, experience levels and decision authority.
  • Developing comprehensive project documentation as required to be shared with team members supporting transparency and engagement.
  • Reviewing and providing input towards vendor contracts to ensure it is representing the needs and interests of the Wellington Altus stakeholders and target outcomes.
  • Using and continually developing leadership and influencing skills.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, product management or computer science.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Project Management experience in IT and non-IT programs.
  • High proficiency in managing both waterfall and agile project methodologies; PMP or CSM designation would be an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to convey outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Start-up experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Domain.
  • An organizational perspective to thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • An ability to build strong, balanced, symbiotic, and cross-functional relationships.
  • Experience making hard trade-offs and decisions with running multiple, competing priorities concurrently .
  • A demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and drive constant improvement to achieve results.
