If this sounds like you, come help us shape the future of fibre internet in Canada.As a Technical Support Specialist, heres what youll do: - Level 2/3 Support – Assist and respond too NOC / Call Centre and Level 1 Technicians in understanding network related issues.- Answer, evaluate and prioritize incoming telephone calls, voice mail, and e-mail requests for assistance from customers experiencing problems with hardware, networking, and other network related technologies.- Monitor Networks - Receive calls from internal/external customers regarding trouble issues, capacity issues, and connection to multiple monitoring software.- Provide internal support assisting other departments: sales, finance, operations about new and existing provisioning orders.- Maintenance – Scheduled work for the upgrading, fixing, installing or decommissioning of hardware/software in POPs or the data centre.- Respond to customer trouble reports in a professional manner and on a timely basis.- Pro-actively identify customer affecting problems through the use of network surveillance tools.- Actively participate in the on-going upgrade and development of the network.- Prepare trouble tickets that accurately describe the nature of the problem and that summarize the initial actions taken by the NA- Take ownership of customer trouble reports to ensure that the corporate MTTR objectives are met. This includes the follow-up of any ticket referred to the second level support group or other groups within the company- Perform secondary network testing on customer trouble reports and provide initial MTTR estimate to the customer within 30 minutes of receipt of the report.- Follow up with the customer to ensure the technical problem is resolved.- Maintain, monitor and service the network.- Document network changes and updates- Escalate problems to senior level technical support when immediate resolution is not possible- Participate with other employees in rotating on-call to ensure high level service for customer issues.You will excel at the role if you have most of the following skills & qualifications, however we welcome applications from employees who are ready to grow in their career. If you feel you have 50% or more of the attributes listed below, please apply!- Minimum 2 years post secondary education in technical or computer systems to meet industry standard certification or equivalent experience- Minimum of 2 years experience working in the telecom industry.- Possess a solid knowledge and working experience of LAN/WAN/WIRELESS network equipment.
