We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.Position OverviewThe switchboard operator is responsible for courteous and effective telephone, paging and inquiry services for the hospital.Experience

  • At least one year previous experience as a telephone operator or one year receptionist experience essential, preferably in a health care setting.
  • Experience in the use of an ATD application preferred.
  • Experience in windows environment essential.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Grade XII education.
  • Medical Terminology certificate preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration

Qualifications and Skills
  • Accurate typing - 40 words per minute.
  • Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, work independently and made effective decisions.
Physical Requirements
  • Good physical and mental health to meet the position demands.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
