Job Description

GHY International is seeking a Trade Specialist to join the Canadian Operations team. This role is primarily responsible for verify shipment details are accurate by performing regular audits. They must have strict attention to detail as they are responsible for database management and new part verification. Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
• FTA Management & Recovery Verification
• Maintain a client base
• Maintaining databases
• Engage in client communication
• Document pursuit for free trade savings potential
• Onboarding of new clients
• Log B2’s
• Process and monitor B2’s
• Obtain GST waivers, IOR letter changes
• Verification of New parts
• Adding of new parts – high lineage
• Classification of commodities
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Completion of grade 12 Education
• Certified Customs Specialist Designation
• Enrolment in Certified Trade Compliance Specialist course
• 5-10 years related industry experience
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently
• Advanced knowledge of HS system and Customs laws and regulations
• Detailed oriented and logical individual with the ability to make objective business decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional client service skills
• Experience with ITMR4
• Professional oral and written communication skills
• Recognize OGD’s and impacts of OGD’s at time of release
• Understanding of Outlook, Word and Excel
• Work within tight deadlines
