The opportunity:Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operations, the Trade Support Analyst will assist with client relations, trade corrections, error reporting and risk mitigation. The incumbent of the position will have a range of duties and responsibilities, usually stationed between the intersection of the Trading team, Reconciliations, Operations, Finance, and the Products/Platforms team.The Trade Support Analyst will possess refined finance and operational acumen, meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work effectively within IIROC/MFDA regulations with various vendors and custodians.Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring practices abide by internal guidelines and external regulations.
  • Developing innovative ways to improve procedure and recommend system enhancements.
  • Reporting errors in a timely manner, with detailed information and recommendations on improvements to prevent reoccurring trends.
  • Responding to queries and issues raised by clients.
  • Liaising with managers and project leads to ensure effective delivery of service and information.
  • Being able to influence vendors, custodians, and cross-functional teams to expediate trade corrections.
  • Proactively identifying risk and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Providing trainings to users on submitting trade corrections.
  • Escalating incidents immediately when required.
  • Assisting in production of daily, monthly, and annual reconciliation reports.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:Candidates to have one or more university qualifications and several years’ experience in a similar position. The most relevant fields of study are Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, and Computer Science.
  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, economics, business, mathematics, computer science, or similar field of study.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ industry experience.
  • A minimum 2 years of existing experience within service, operations or trading with IIROC/MFDA environment.
  • Certifications from the Canadian Securities Institute, and in Project Management or process improvements are an asset.
  • Experience working in service, operations, or trading within an IIROC/MFDA environment.
  • Knowledge of our systems and tools, including but not limited to, Thompson One, Croesus, Envestnet, and Advent Systems - Moxy, Genesis, and APX.
  • Knowledge of NBIN systems - Compass, NetRep, and iMost.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • An ability to work on multiple tasks and within tight deadlines.
  • An awareness of market and industry trends.
  • Exceptional client and relationship management ability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
