Job Description

Sylvan teachers are responsible for creating a positive personal learning experience for students of all grade levels in Reading, Writing and Math. Students are taught in a 3:1 student-teacher ratio using Sylvan program materials. We provide our teachers with training in all of our programs. We design the programs, provide the materials, lesson plans, and supply the students. All you have to do is teach! No planning, no reports, and no parent meetings; that way you can focus on working with students who want to grow their confidence and abilities. We are hiring several teachers for our Winnipeg (Kenaston Boulevard) location.Responsibilities

  • Develop rapport with students and establish a positive learning environment
  • Maintain enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Manage up to 3 students to create a balanced and robust instructional session
  • Evaluate and record progress of each student
  • Use praise and encouragement to ensure students are engaged and inspired to learn
  • Communicate specific student needs to Directors
  • Attend staff meetings and completes ongoing training as needed
SCHEDULE: Minimum six month commitment of 2-4 shifts per week during the following instruction periods.July-August
  • Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
  • Tuesday & Thursday 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
September-June
  • Monday - Thursday 4:00pm - 8:00 pm
  • Saturday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
