Job Description

For over 55 years, Anchor Construction Industrial Products has been one of Western Canadas biggest suppliers of construction, industrial and metal building fasteners, power tools and accessories.We are looking for an experienced warehouse professional to lead our warehouse team and ensure the smooth operations of our shipping, receiving, and order picking as well as maintaining a clean, efficient warehouse.JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Lead By Example: ensure work gets done through personal effort, team leadership, planning and execution. Set the bar for attitude, attendance, effort, accuracy, efficiency
  • Warehouse Upkeep: bin maintenance & labeling, space planning, stock rotation, sweeping and cleaning, garbage and pallets
  • Shipping: oversee the shipping area, working with the head shipper to ensure timely and accurate shipments, deal with any incoming/outgoing shipping issues. Backup shipping duties from time to time
  • Receiving, put-away, order picking and transfers: ensure this work is done accurately and in a timely manner. Personally assist and coordinate the workforce from shipping to receiving as the business ebbs and flows
  • Inventory Control: cycle counts, year end inventory counts, accurate receiving/put-away/picking/branch transfers
SPECIFIC SKILLS
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Works well with paperwork and computers
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to get the most of people while maintaining a strong culture of teamwork
  • Physically fit: this is a hands-on job involving heavy lifting and hustle
  • A sense of urgency with the ability to create a plan and execute. Able get the work done during busy times AND stay productive during slower times
  • Train new staff on policies/procedures and product knowledge
  • Strong communication skills with all areas of the company from sales, to front office and management
  • A relentless continuous improvement mindset with the ability to smooth out the operations
